A BILL to amend and reenact section three, article one, chapter
twenty of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine
hundred thirty-one, as amended, relating to renaming the
division of natural resources the division of wildlife,
recreation and parks.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That section three, article one, chapter twenty of the code
of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 1. ORGANIZATION AND ADMINISTRATION.
§20-1-3. Division of natural resources, office of director and
commission established; renaming division;
termination date for division of natural resources and for parks section of division of natural
resources.
A division of natural resources, the office of director of
the division of natural resources and a natural resources
commission are hereby created and established in the state
government with jurisdiction, powers, functions, services and
enforcement processes as provided in this chapter and elsewhere
by law.
On the first day of July, two thousand two, the division of
natural resources shall be renamed the division of wildlife,
recreation and parks, and thereafter, wherever the term
"Division of Natural Resources" is used in this code it means
"Division of Wildlife, Recreation and Parks."
Pursuant to the provisions of article ten, chapter four of
this code, the division of natural resources shall continue to
exist until the first day of July, two thousand one two.
Pursuant to the provisions of article ten, chapter four of
this code, the parks section and parks functions of the division
of natural resources, transferred to the division of natural
resources pursuant to the provisions of section twelve, article
one, chapter five-b of this code, shall continue to exist within
the division of natural resources until the first day of July,
two thousand two three.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to rename the Division
of Natural Resources the Division of Wildlife, Recreation and
Parks.
